Wilson, Kansas

Like countless others, Wilson is a dying midwestern town. An aging population lingers, but the commercial buildings are nearly all closed or derelict. Wilson’s uniqueness is anchored in its Czech immigrant background. The numerous painted storefront windows are one expression of that culture. Original photography was executed over a couple of hours following a snowfall on November 24, 2007.
